Trip dates: March 27-April 9 (14 days, 13 nights)
This trip will be an adventure through some of the most amazing locations in Costa Rica. We will focus on birds, amphibians, mammals, and landscape. Our small group will enjoy private transportation, with local guides who know their environment and how to find large and small subjects alike. We have organized this trip in conjunction with Road Runner Photo Tours, who will be leading a similar workshop in the weeks preceding our dates. The trip has been designed for photography by photographers!
This trip will be an immersive, hands-on photography experience created by local/seasoned photographers. There will be opportunities to capture images of hummingbirds, bats (at night) and amphibians in a multi-flash (gear provided) environment. We will also work with flash macro photography.
In addition to session work, we will also explore the amazing parks and gardens of Costa Rica with local guides, who are familiar with the jungle and will take us to the right spots!

General Traveler Info For Costa Rica
Airport – You should arrive to and depart from Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). Our driver will be waiting to provide your private transfer to our capital city hotel.
Electricity – Electrical outlets are US-style. Those coming from Europe or Asia may need travel adapters. We will send more info after signup.
Insurance – We strongly recommend you purchase trip insurance that includes trip cancellation and medical coverage while overseas.
Medical – Costa Rica does not require any vaccinations to enter the country. Please consult with your doctor regarding general travel vaccinations.
Internet Access – All of our hotels have free WIFI. We will also have cell data coverage throughout the trip.
Skill Level Required – We take people of all skill levels, from beginner to the pro level; however, our focus will be on helping you better understand composition, shooting techniques and shooting the light. It is most helpful for you to have a good general understanding on how to adjust your basic camera settings including shutter speed, aperture, ISO and exposure compensation.
Physical Difficulty -While still confirming some details, we do not expect long hikes on this trip, since we tend to shoot very near the vehicles, but you do have to be able to easily get in and out of a vehicle and walk short distances.
